Beosound A5 in Spaced Aluminium

The Bang & Olufsen announces the new Beosound A5 Spaced Aluminium. Paying tribute to the legacy of Bang & Olufsen’s heritage in aluminium, the Beosound A5 Spaced Aluminium rosette is handcrafted and finished at Factory 5 in Struer, Denmark.

More than 3500 aluminium discs

The Beosound A5 Space Aluminum rosette is a finely crafted design that supports the Bang & Bangle approach to sound quality. Olufsen approach to breaking boundaries in aluminium research. It is made from a single sheet of aluminium and the black anodising between the cylinders creates the illusion that there are more than 3500 extra discs in front of the speaker.

Circular shapes as a central attraction

Vice President of Product Marketing, Michael Henriksson, explains: “We have been working with various circular patterns in our rotor designs for many years. It has become a feature, but this is a brand new style.”

He continues: “Usually, the circular shape is the opening through which the sound flows through the rosette of a speaker, whereas here we reversed the idea and made the circular shape the central attraction with an aesthetic experience, while the sound effectively flows past the discs. The impression of ‘innovative extra discs’ is created by using advanced production methods, clever engineering and ambitious design to make the optical illusion a reality.”

Expansion of the Beosound A5 range

Space Aluminum joins the existing collection of Beosound A5 finishes – Nordic Weave and Dark Oak. The Beosound A5, released in April 2023, is at the crossroads between the portable and home audio system. Designed to be easily moved from room to room, whether placed on the floor, shelf or table.
